Slide it under the grating of the bottom board by the rear : - Can be used as a closed plate of bottom board (or harvest bottom) during the winter, if you make 5 evacuation holes of Ø 3,5mm in the drawer to avoid retaining humidity in the beehive. The drawer must be fully inserted under the bottom board, it must not exceed, to avoid collecting rainwater. - Can be used for varroas screening. Natural death of varroa in autumn must be less than one varroa by day. - Can be used for all evaporation treatments on any paper towels, with acid or base (formic acid, flash treatment, Chapleau’s method ...)

On the sides, 2 bands pierced of openings 3,5x8mm on 300mm of length, permit a constant ventilation of the hive.
Slide it under the grating of the bottom board by the rear. Is used as a closed plate of bottom board (or harvest bottom) during the autumn and the winter. Add an insulating material of 40mm height (hemp's wool) in the tanks of the Hive Top Feeder (cut the insulating material in sizes superior to the sizes of the tanks, to obtain a perfectly filling up without clearance). If necessary, make 5 evacuation holes of Ø 3,5mm in the plate to avoid retaining humidity in the beehive. The plate must be fully inserted under the bottom board, it must not exceed, to avoid collecting rainwater. |

Tip : To favour colony’s brood development, you should close the Full Ventilation Bottom Board :
- In cold regions, as early as the feeding, with the Wintering Plate,
- In temperate regions, at the autumn, with the Wintering Plate,
- Or on January 15th (indication for Franche-Comté, east part of France) with the Drawer (pierced of 5 evacuation holes of Ø 3,5mm).
The Wintering Plate or the Drawer must be take off when you put the 2nd Honey Chamber.
